Upgrading of Secondary Treatment Using HYBACS at Tubli WPCC

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Personal Representative of His Majesty the King of Bahrain, President of Public Commission for Protection of Marine Resources, Environment and Wildlife, and in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, the Upgrading of Secondary Treatment Using HYBACS at Tubli WPCC project was signed by His Excellency the Minister of Works with the consortium Bluewater Bio Zero Waste.

The short term goal will relieve the overloading on the existing plant. Bluewater Bio’s proprietary HYBACS treatment process will treat the excessive load, allowing the existing plant to return to operation within its original design parameters. The result of this will be to dramatically improve the environment and ecology in the Tubli Bay area.

The long term goal falls within the Bahrain Vision 2030 where improvement of infrastructure is a high priority. With the implementation of the HYBACS upgrade to eliminate the immediate concerns at the works, the long term Master Plan for the Tubli WPCC improvements can be planned, designed and implemented.
